- At a recent Janta Darbar, Vij ordered the suspension of a Social Justice and Empowerment Department investigator for negligence in a pension-related case

During his weekly Janta Darbar at the PWD rest house in Ambala Cantonment, a complainant approached the minister, alleging police inaction in a property dispute. Dissatisfied with the SHO's handling of the case, Vij sought an explanation from him.

The SHO, Satish Kumar, stated that the matter appeared to be a civil dispute and had been reported to higher authorities. He claimed there was no lapse on his part. However, the minister dismissed the explanation, contacted Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur and directed the issuance of suspension orders for Kumar.

“The SHO disobeyed my directions and did not register the FIR in a cheating case related to some shops. FIRs must be registered promptly and then investigations can follow. Disobeying orders will not be tolerated and officials who fail to work will face action,” said Vij.

In response to another complaint regarding the sale of meat products in open areas, causing inconvenience to residents, Vij directed officials from the Municipal Council, Health Department, and police to form a joint team and take appropriate action.

Members of the transporters’ association raised the demand for establishing a transport nagar for parking heavy vehicles. Vij instructed officials to identify suitable land for the project. The association also urged strict action against truck drivers who drive in the wrong lane, causing fines for vehicle owners. They suggested cancelling the licenses of such drivers.

The minister also issued directions in complaints related to roadways bus service during late hours, illegal possession, defunct transformer in industrial area, power bill, mutation of property, shifting of power cables, registration of properties and immigration fraud.

Former Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and several BJP leaders were present during the Janta Darbar.
