Shopkeepers challaned for using polythene bags

A joint team of the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) and the Haryana State Pollution Control Board raided several shops in Jagadhri and recovered banned polythene bags from four shops.

The joint team issued challans to shopkeepers and imposed a fine of Rs 7,500 on them.

According to information, a team, led by Sanitary Inspector Amit Kamboj and Junior Engineer of the HSPCB, Gaurav reached Prakash Chowk of Jagadhri in zone-I to stop the use of single-use banned plastic items.

The team raided several shops in this area from Prakash Chowk to old Chhachhrauli road in Jagadhri.

During the raid, a large quantity of polythene was recovered from four shopkeepers.

The team issued challans on the spot to all the four shopkeepers and imposed a fine of Rs 7,500 on them.
