Shopkeepers and labourers working at the Tikri-Bahadurgarh border are apprehensive of financial losses and losing jobs if protesting farmers block it on February 13 in case the Delhi Police not allows them to enter the national capital. They don’t want to go through such hard times again they faced during the 2021 farmers’ agitation by losing their livelihood following sealing of the Tikri border.

“The farmers’ agitation in 2021 forced me to return to my native village in Prayagraj (UP) when all petrol pumps at the Tikri border were closed following the blockade at the Tikri border,” said Mahesh, a petrol pump employee.
