Faridabad, November 18
Municipal Commissioner Sonal Goel on Monday ordered issuance of show-cause notice to three MC officers for their failure to ensure proper sanitation. The order was issued during her visit to some localities in the NIT area.
Expressing dissatisfaction over sanitation and garbage dumping in the open, she asked the MC Chief Engineer to issue a notice to Executive Engineer Deepak Kinger and Assistant Engineers Padam Bhushan and Jeet Ram for negligence.
She asked officials concerned to issue challans to those responsible for dumping garbage and cow dung in green belts in the area. Officials of Ecogreen, authorised to dispose of waste, were asked to pull up their socks as garbage removal had not improved despite several warnings.
Chief Engineer DR Bhaskar, Superintending Engineer Birender Kardam and Health Officer Dr Udayabhan Sharma were present during the field visit of the Municipal Commissioner.
The authorities claimed that a total penalty of Rs 5.65 lakh had been imposed regarding violation of rules on storing construction and building material in the open since the drive was launched two weeks ago. Water was sprinkled on main roads with help of 25 tankers in the past 24 hours to contain dust pollution.
