Municipal Commissioner Dr Vaishali Sharma said the showroom owner had sought four days’ time in writing to clear the dues. “If the tax is not paid within this period, the property will be sealed and attachment proceedings will be initiated by the corporation,” she 2said.

She further revealed that notices were earlier issued to 100 defaulters, including showrooms, shops, SCOs, and private educational institutions. Despite the one-month notice period, taxes had not been deposited. Orders for attachment were issued against 30 defaulters, and action would begin next week. The attachment drive will continue for the next two to three weeks.

Issuing a stern warning, the Commissioner said, “Defaulters must deposit their property tax at the earliest, otherwise their properties will be sealed, followed by attachment proceedings. It is wiser to clear dues now rather than face legal action.” Duty Magistrate and Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) Abhe Singh along with other officials reached the showroom and started the sealing process, but the owner sought four days to clear the dues.
