Haryanvi singer Rocky Mittal seeks quashing of FIR registered against him in Gurugram
Gurugram, January 28
Haryanvi Singer Jai Bhagwan Mittal, alias Rocky Mittal, has sought the quashing of a three-year-old FIR registered against him from the Gurugram police.
The complainant had alleged that a song released by Mittal could harm the reputation of the state’s Chief Minister.
However, in a letter written to the police, it has been claimed that despite the withdrawal of the complaint, neither the police issued any challan in the case nor quashed the FIR against him. Mittal was booked under Sections 153A and 505 of the IPC in 2021.
Mittal said, “An FIR was registered against me in 2021. In his complaint, Suneel Rao had claimed that a video song released on my YouTube channel could cause serious harm to the reputation of Chief Minister of Haryana. When I visited Gurugram for some work, I got the opportunity to meet the complainant, with whom I shared the real motive behind making the song. Following our discussion, the misunderstanding was cleared.”
He further said, “Later, the complaint filed an affidavit clearly stating that the misunderstanding between us has been resolved and that he does not want to continue the case. He, thus, now wants to cancel the FIR. Despite regular requests made to the Gurugram Commissioner of Police regarding the cancellation of the FIR on the complainant’s clear statement, there has been progress,” Mittal said.
