Panipat, February 13
After the confrontation of farmers with the security forces at Shambhu border, the Delhi border has been sealed for any vehicular movement. Security on the Sonepat-Delhi and Singhu borders has been tightened.
The Panipat and Sonepat police have placed barricades near Patti Kalyana village on NH-44 to stop the farmers from entering Delhi.
The Delhi Police have made multilayer security arrangements at Singhu border and restricted the movement of traffic, including service roads from Kundli to Singhu border, by placing boulders, soil-filled dumpers, barbed barricades, etc.
All vehicles were banned from entering Delhi via Singhu border, following which long queues of vehicles were seen near Kundli on the Sonepat-Delhi border.
Heavy vehicles have been diverted to the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal and Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal expressways, while small vehicles have been diverted through internal roads.
The police have issued an advisory for commuters to use the designated diversions and senior police officers held a meeting to come up with a plan to stop the farmers from entering Delhi through NH-44 tomorrow.
