Sirsa admn plans to put speed-breakers, signage on accident-prone roads

Following persistent demands from residents and repeated requests by the area’s MP, MLA, and other public representatives, the Sirsa district administration has finally taken action to improve road safety. Additional Deputy Commissioner Virendra Sehrawat chaired a road safety committee meeting to discuss measures for accident-prone areas, including speed breakers, signboards, tree trimming and other interventions aimed at preventing further mishaps.

Officials emphasised marking high-risk zones, removing branches, and installing rumble strips, particularly near sites of frequent accidents.

The meeting also reviewed specific areas such as Maujukheda village, the Shergarh cut on the Bharatmala project, instructing the installation of speed breakers, cat eyes and signage. Repair work on the Bhurat Wala-Khinaniyan culvert was fast-tracked, and obstructing structures, such as the welcome gate at Ottu village, were ordered to be removed.
