Sirsa Congress MLA Gokul Setia has once again voiced frustration over his treatment within the party, accusing senior leaders of ignoring him despite his continued loyalty.

In a strongly worded social media post, Setia expressed disappointment at the party leadership’s silence during his struggles. Referring to recent controversies involving fellow MLA Ashok Arora, he wrote, “Congress leaders stood firmly behind others, including MP Deepender Hooda. But maybe they don’t see me as one of their own just because I once praised Chief Minister Nayab Saini.”

Setia clarified that praising good governance does not imply disloyalty. “If someone does good work for my area, thanking them is not wrong. I didn’t join BJP,” he emphasised.

The Sirsa MLA said he has always fought for his constituents but felt abandoned when he faced criticism. “No Congress leader stood by me publicly,” he noted, adding that this pattern of indifference has repeated over time.

Earlier, Setia had highlighted how even the chairman of Sirsa Municipal Council was appreciated and met national leaders, while he was excluded from internal meetings. Only after a previous social media post was he invited for a discussion with the state Congress president, which briefly eased tensions.

Despite feeling sidelined, Setia reaffirmed his commitment to public service. “I draw strength from the people of Sirsa. My struggle will go on — with or without party support.”

Setia’s latest remarks have once again put the Congress leadership in a tight spot. All eyes are now on the party’s high command and whether they will attempt to pacify the discontented legislator this time.
