Sirsa DLSA organises awareness camp on pollution, law

As part of a legal awareness campaign run by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), several activities were organised in Sirsa, including an awareness camp at the Law Department of Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) on Friday.

Environmental Protection Advisor to the university, Mitrasen, was present as the special guest. He highlighted the urgent need for environmental conservation and its relevance in today’s world. The camp, conducted under DLSA Sirsa’s initiative titled “Harvesting Harmony: Legal Awareness for Pollution-Free Fields”, focused on spreading awareness on key legal issues.

A total of 93 students and faculty members participated in the camp. Attendees were also informed about the NALSA helpline number: 15100, a free legal aid service available to anyone in need of legal guidance.

Two prisoners released during Jail Lok Adalat

Following the directions of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority, a Jail Lok Adalat was held where four cases were presented and two prisoners were released after settlement. DLSA Secretary and Chief Judicial Magistrate Pravesh Singla, the Jail Lok Adalat is organised twice a month on the first and third Wednesday. These special courts aim to provide relief to prisoners involved in minor cases.

In a separate event, the DLSA also conducted a legal awareness camp for farmers at the ADR Centre.
