Sirsa: Armed youths forcibly took away a scooter and ~6.4 lakh in cash, which was kept in the storage box of the two-wheeler, from a resident on Monday morning at Kalanwali in Sirsa district. The scooter belonged to Harbans Lal, who was heading to deposit the cash in his son’s bank account. Three masked robbers on two motorcycles brandished sharp weapons and forced Harbans to hand over his scooter near the Old Panchratna Cinema road. The police set up roadblocks throughout the city. Despite making efforts, the police could not nab the robbers. OC

CM launches online portal

Chandigar:Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday launched an online portal, ‘Har Ghar-Har Grihni Yojana’. The yojana will provide domestic gas cylinder for ~500 to the Antyodaya families. The Chief Minister had announced this during a Hariyali Teej programme organised at Jind recently. The Chief Minister said about 50 lakh Antyodaya families would be benefited. TNS
