Sirsa readies exam centres, puts security in place

Sirsa district is gearing up for the common eligibility test (CET) 2025, set to take place on July 26 and 27. District Commissioner Shantanu Sharma held a meeting with senior officials on Tuesday to review the final preparations and ensure everything was ready for the exam.

Sharma discussed key aspects such as transport, security, basic facilities at exam centres and other essential arrangements. He urged the officials to complete tasks on time and make sure the exam was conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner. He also highlighted the importance of coordination among departments to avoid any inconvenience to candidates.

Superintendent of Police Dr Mayank Gupta said extensive security arrangements were in place. A sufficient number of police personnel would be deployed to maintain law and order, ensuring the smooth conduct of the examination.

The district has set up 64 exam centres for the two-day event, with 14,750 students expected to appear in each session. Sharma also directed the Transport Department to provide timely bus services, particularly for the students coming from distant areas. Additionally, help desks and CET counters will be available for the convenience of the students.

Sharma appealed to the candidates to follow the guidelines mentioned on their admit cards and arrive at the centres on time. The meeting was attended by Nodal Officer Dr Subhash Chandra and District Education Officer Ved Dahiya, among other officials.
