Sirsa students win big at moot court competition

The Moot Court team from Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, brought laurels to the university by winning two major awards at the National Moot Court Competition hosted by Swami Devi Dyal College of Law, Panchkula.

Led by Assistant Professor Dr Vikas Poonia, the team comprised Mehak Verma and Nikhil Mehta from LLB First Year, and Ritika Bhadana from BA LLB First Year. Demonstrating skill, the team won the Best Memorial Award, while Mehak Verma was adjudged Best Speaker.

Dr Poonia shared that the competition was judged by Hon’ble Justice Alok Jain of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and senior advocate A.D.S. Sukheja. Justice Jain, along with the Principal of the host college, Dr Richa Ranjan, presented medals and mementos to the winners and extended their best wishes.

Dr Poonia also highlighted the consistent performance of the CDLU law team, mentioning that they had previously secured first place in a national-level crime scene investigation competition.

CDLU Vice Chancellor Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Head of the Law Department Prof Mukesh Garg, and Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof Ashok, along with other faculty members, congratulated the team on their achievement and wished them success in future competitions.
