Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, has signed an agreement with the Heartfulness Education Trust (HET) from Vijayawada to improve students’ mental well-being and promote value-based education. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Prof Ashok Sharma, CDLU’s Registrar, and Pawan Sharda, HET’s Zonal Coordinator. The MoU was inked in the presence of CDLU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Vijay Kumar.
Prof Kumar said this partnership would help students grow emotionally, learn important values and become future-ready leaders. It aims to support balanced living, mental focus and overall personal development for both students and staff. Prof Kumar further said, as part of the deal, HET will organise workshops and sessions on relaxation, meditation, leadership and life skills. These will help improve focus, reduce stress and build emotional strength. CDLU will create a special “Heartfulness Corner” in the library and a meditation room for regular sessions. HET will provide trainers, learning materials and support for the faculty.
A key feature of the MoU is the introduction of the HELM (Heartfulness Enabled Leadership Mastery) programme. This 16-week course will teach leadership skills and emotional intelligence. Special sessions for staff, called “Wellness at Work”, will also be held to create a peaceful and stress-free environment on campus.
Prof Kumar stated that all services offered by HET will be free of cost. CDLU will provide space and other support needed for the programmes. The agreement will last for three years, with plans to hold regular seminars and workshops to blend values with academics.
