Gurugram, December 31
The police have arrested six women — five Kenyans and one Ugandan — for creating a ruckus on the road in the DLF Phase 1 area in the wee hours today. The women were staying in the city without valid visas and passports.
The police booked them under the Foreigners Act and Passport Act. They were produced in a city court, which sent them in judicial custody. Official intimation was sent to the embassies concerned.
According to the police, the incident took place around 1.30 am near City Court. Deployed on a barricade with her team, ASI Sunita noticed some women fighting.
They were creating a ruckus. All six women were detained and a legal adviser was called. Police officials asked the foreign nationals to show their passports and visas, but they could not produce any. The accused were identified as Purity Musenya (32), Gladys Waithera (33), Susan Wairimud (31), Lucy Nabwired (30) and Sharon Shakil (32) from Kenya and Tinah Katese (32) from Uganda. — OC
