Heavy rain for the second consecutive day inundated several roads and localities in Hisar town causing miseries for residents in the absence of an efficient drainage system.

According to a Met official, 37-mm rainfall was recorded in the town on Friday. However, lack of drainage resulted in the stagnation of water in most of the areas. Among the localities where roads have submerged due to rainwater are Barwala road, auto market, Satrod, Mill area, Azad Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Shanti Nagar, Dogran Mohalla and even the posh areas like Urban Estate, Model town and Bank Colony. — TNS
