Sonepat BJP mandal president shot dead by neighbour in land dispute on Holi
The BJP's mandal president was shot dead in Jawahra village in the Gohana area of Sonepat on Holi.
The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Surender Nambardar of Jawahra village.
According to available information, the deceased was near his house when his neighbour allegedly fired at him.
Surender ran to a shop to save himself, but the neighbour reached there and fired shots at him.
Surender died on the spot. A land dispute is suspected to be behind the mandal president's murder.
Gohana Sadar police have registered a case.
The deceased's body has been sent to the mortuary at Bhagat Phool Singh (BPS) Medical College for Women in Khanpur Kalan.
Earlier, Surender Nambardar was in the INLD but later joined the BJP.
The BJP appointed Surender Nambardar as president of the Panchayati Raj wing in 2021.
