Speaker Kalyan reviews wheat procurement process

Assembly Speaker and Gharaunda MLA Harvinder Kalyan on Saturday visited the Kunjpura grain market and took stock of the ongoing wheat procurement process.

He interacted with market officials, commission agents and representatives of procurement agencies, issuing necessary directions to ensure a smooth and efficient procurement season.

He stressed on timely lifting of procured wheat and directed for adequate transportation and labour arrangements to ensure smooth logistics. Kalyan emphasised that all officials and staff involved in the procurement process must remain vigilant. He directed the authorities to ensure that farmers face no inconvenience while selling their produce and receive timely payments.

The Speaker also reviewed the gate pass system at the mandi entrance.He checked moisture levels in the produce and examined the weighing process to ensure transparency. Highlighting the need for farmer-friendly facilities, Kalyan instructed mandi officials to maintain cleanliness in the market and ensure availability of drinking water and cleaned public toilets. He said there should be no issues related to gunny bags or the weighing process.
