A Tiranga Yatra was carried out in Gharaunda on Sunday to honour the valour of the armed forces in conducting Operation Sindoor.
The yatra aimed to instil a sense of patriotism and nationalism among the public.
Led by Haryana Assembly Speaker and Gharaunda MLA Harvinder Kalyan, the yatra commenced from Railway Road and passed through various roads of the town. The rally was marked by patriotic slogans and devotional music. Addressing a gathering, Kalyan said the Army had given a befitting reply to Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, reducing enemy posts to rubble in just three days. He maintained that India had made it clear that it not only knew how to defend itself, but also how to respond powerfully to any attack on its sovereignty or faith. He highlighted that Tiranga Yatras were being organised across the country to celebrate the bravery of the soldiers. “Through Operation Sindoor, our armed forces have sent a strong message to terrorism and its sponsors in Pakistan: India will not tolerate any threat to its unity or progress,” he said.
Referring to the Pahalgam attack, Kalyan said the heinous killing of innocent civilians had shaken the entire nation and drawn widespread condemnation.
He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that the perpetrators of the attack would not be spared. Kalyan praised the women officers of the Army who played a crucial role in Operation Sindoor.
“Just as the sindoor of many women was wiped out in terror attacks, Operation Sindoor demolished terrorist camps in Pakistan in three days, sending a bold message to the world,” he said.
He attributed the success of the operation to the “strong leadership” of PM Modi, stating that the armed forces were given complete freedom to act. “It is because of our brave soldiers and decisive leadership that we are witnessing the end of terrorism on our soil,” he added.
Kalyan called upon people to work with dedication for the nation, and to support the country’s efforts to eliminate terrorism completely.
On Saturday, a Tiranga Yatra was organised in Kaithal.
The yatra was flagged off by Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal from Geeta Bhawan Mandir and passed through Committee Chowk, Shaheed Smarak, Pehowa Chowk and other key areas of the city.
The roads of Kaithal echoed with chants of “Hindustan Zindabad” and “Bharatiya Sena Zindabad”, along with patriotic songs, as flower petals rained down on the procession.
Jindal led the march on horseback, paying tribute to the bravery of the armed forces. BJP district president Jyoti Saini and senior leader Ashok Gurjar were among those present at the rally.
On Friday evening, a Shaurya Samman Tiranga Yatra was organised in Karnal to pay tribute to the valour and sacrifice of the armed forces. The yatra was organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party and various social organisations, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from party workers, residents and prominent leaders.
The yatra was scheduled to be led by Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, but he could not come due to some reasons, party sources confirmed. Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, former MP Sanjay Bhatia, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand, Indri MLA Ram Kumar Kashyap, Nilokheri MLA Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi, Assandh MLA Yogendra Rana, senior BJP leader advocate Vedpal, district BJP president Parveen Lather and former officiating district president Brij Gupta were among those who led the yatra and spoke on the occasion.
