Speaker reviews NHAI projects in Gharaunda segment
Haryana Assembly Speaker and Gharaunda MLA Harvinder Kalyan on Monday reviewed projects of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) related to the Gharaunda constituency. He directed officials to expedite works on ongoing projects and said he would visit the sites next week. Kalyan instructed officials to prepare a proposal for a bypass to ease traffic congestion in Gharaunda. Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh and NHAI Deputy Manager Vishal Kesharwani were present at the review meeting.
Speaker Kalyan discussed the progress of the Eastern Bypass and third phase of the Western Bypass, a part of the Karnal Ring Road with NHAI officials, who informed the Speaker that the project was progressing rapidly and was expected to be completed within the next 10 months. The officials highlighted shortage of soil as a challenge for the project. Kalyan assured full support from the administration.
He also assessed the construction of a flyover near the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban. NHAI officials said the flyover was likely to be completed within two months. The Speaker instructed them to ensure timely completion of the project to reduce public inconvenience. Additionally, Kalyan reviewed the foot overbridge near Daha village and emphasised the need for its swift completion.
Besides, Kalyan also discussed the development of an exit point near the Indo-Israel Vegetable Excellence Centre, Gharaunda, on which the officials of the NHAI assured that the work was progressing steadily. While reviewing the widening of the service lane near Kutail village, Kalyan also instructed officials to complete the widening of the project at the earliest. The officials also informed the Speaker that the construction of a foot overbridge in Kambopura was in its final stage and would be operational soon.
Kalyan stressed the importance of completing these projects on time to avoid inconvenience to the public. “I reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects and asked the officials to complete them within specified time. These projects will ensure smoother connectivity in the area,” said Kalyan.
