He said that the saplings would be provided by the Forest Department, but their care, protection and maintenance would be the responsibility of HSIIDC.

Rao Narbir Singh was presiding over a coordination meeting of various departments regarding the upcoming ‘Van Mahotsav’. He directed the officers to do large-scale plantations across the state this monsoon.

It was informed during the meeting that a mass plantation campaign would be conducted across Haryana on July 15.

The campaign will run in public spaces, near ponds and riverbanks and on panchayat lands. The support of NGOs, social organisations and industrial groups will be sought. In urban areas, the responsibility of greening major intersections will be given to industries and each site will display the plaque of the contributing company.

Rao Narbir Singh said the plantation along the KMP Expressway would be done in two phases—first from Kundli to Manesar, and second from Manesar to Palwal. He directed officers to submit a detailed action plan by June 26.
