The stage is set for polling in the Baroda constituency that will take place on Tuesday. As many as 1,80,529 lakh voters in 54 villages will decide the fate of 14 candidates.
BJP-JJP candidate Yogeshwar Dutt, Induraj Narwal, Congress, INLD’s Joginder Malik and LSP candidate and former Kurukshetra MP Rajkumar Saini are among 14 candidates in the fray from the constituency.
The booths are located at 64 locations in Jagasi, Chidana, Shamri, Sisan-Buran-Lohchab, Mundlana, Sirsadh, Ishapur Kheri, Gharwal, Bhawar, Rindhana, Butana Kundu, Baroda Mor, Dhanana, Kathura, Ahulana, Madina, Chhichdana, Rukhi, Katwal and Bhainswal Kalan villages of the constituency, District Electoral Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shyam Lal Poonia said.
As many as 1,344 employees of civil departments and 2,300 cops have been assigned various duties for conducting the poll in a free, fair and transparent manner, he added.
Meanwhile, SP Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said 2,300 police personnel had been deputed to conduct the polling peacefully. Besides, three companies of the CAPF; two companies of the IRB, Haryana Police; two companies of the Chandigarh Police and one company of the CISF have been deployed in the constituency, the SP said.
The constituency has been divided into six zones and six DSPs and 23 inspectors have been deputed and 30 nakas laid. There will be 48 patrolling parties in Baroda, the SP added.
