BKU president Gurnam Singh Chaduni, while addressing a gathering at the Gadhaula toll plaza here today, made it clear that he stands by his statement on contesting the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state.
He said although the SKM had suspended him for seven days, but even after this period, his statement was not going to change. “It is necessary to contest the elections and I stand by my point of view,” said the BKU leader.
“There is need to start good politics by replacing dirty politics in the country,” said BKU leader Chaduni.
He alleged that governments were working for the corporate sector, not for the public; therefore, they had to change the system and that could be done with power.
Later, a group of farmers, led by Chaduni, left for the Kundli border from the Gadhaula toll plaza.
Chaduni claimed that the farmers’ agitation against the three farm laws was getting stronger with each passing day. “Farmers have gathered here in huge numbers. It shows that our movement is getting stronger,” said Chaduni.
He said farmers from Haryana would continue to stay put at the Delhi borders until the ‘black laws’ were repealed.
BKU leaders Sanju Gundiana, Harpal Sudhail, Mandeep Rodchhappar and Sandeep Topra were also present.
