Start OPD services, MBBS classes under AIIMS-Majra project: Samiti
A public meeting held under the banner of AIIMS Sangharsh Samiti in Kund town on Sunday announced that a vehicle rally would be taken out in the area on August 3 if their key demands — including the commencement of OPD services and MBBS classes under the AIIMS-Majra project — are not met by this month.
The samiti also reiterated their demand for the construction of an overbridge connecting the national highway directly to the AIIMS site in Majra village to ensure better accessibility. The meeting was presided over by samiti president Kailash Chand, while secretary Om Prakash Sain conducted the proceedings.
Addressing the gathering, samiti spokesperson Rajendra Singh said AIIMS-Majra is a significant and long-awaited project for the region. While infrastructure work is currently underway, the government should start OPD services and the MBBS course at any place in the district until the main campus is fully developed, he added.
It was also announced during the meeting that the samiti would actively participate in the foot march organised by the Ramgarh-Bhagwanpur Hospital Banao Sangharsh Samiti on July 13 to press the state government to execute the proposed 200-bed hospital project in Bhagwanpur village.
Residents of Bhagwanpur have been staging indefinite dharna in the village over past two weeks in view of the demand.
