State anthem singer felicitated by KU VC

Haryana’s state anthem singer, an alumnus of Kurukshetra University, Dr Shyam Sharma was felicitated by Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva recently.

While felicitating Sharma, Sachdeva said by singing the Haryana state anthem ‘’Jai Jai Jai Haryana”, Dr Shyam Sharma had made Kurukshetra University proud along with the state of Haryana.

Sachdeva added that the Haryana state anthem was dedicated to the valorous tales of the state and the struggles of brave soldiers, which also expressed the saga of Haryana’s rich culture and folk tradition. Sharma said he learned the techniques of music from retired professor of music Dr Suresh Gopal Shrikhande. PR Deputy Director Dr Jimmy Sharma said Dr Shyam Sharma did his PhD from the KU’s department of music and dance and learnt all aspects of music in detail, after which he started professional singing from 2019.
