Barala said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision behind such sports festivals is to promote fitness across the nation. “A healthy person contributes more to the nation’s progress. If we stay healthy, the country stays healthy,” he said.

He added that national initiatives like Khelo India and Fit India aim to keep millions of young people away from drugs and guide them towards becoming responsible citizens. He urged the public to support these efforts wholeheartedly.

Barala added that the 2025 Sansad Khel Mahotsav is designed to help rural athletes reach international platforms. Local competitions at the Assembly and block levels in Sirsa, he said, are creating wider opportunities for rural talent.

He highlighted that more than 45,000 players have registered since National Sports Day. Barala also reiterated that Haryana has emerged as a “sports nursery” for India, producing strong performers in athletics, kabaddi, volleyball, cricket and other sports.

He said sports guide the younger generation in a positive direction and athletes who work hard bring pride to their families and communities. He added that the state government is encouraging sportspersons through supportive policies and transparent recruitment processes.
