Karnal, December 13
The Haryana Real Estate Appellate Tribunal (HREAT) will be shifted to Karnal from Chandigarh. The state government has started the process and it is expected to start functioning from January 1 in Karnal.
The HREAT office is currently operating from Sector 17 in Chandigarh and deals with the appeals on the decisions of Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authorities in Gurugram and Panchkula. Besides, it works to regulate real estate sector and bring transparency in the dealings between the promoters and real estate projects and buyers of apartments.
A two-member team visited Karnal city today to explore the location for the office. However, no site has been finalised so far. “We are searching for a building from where the office will start functioning. A team led by a member of the HREAT today came to Karnal to explore the options,” said District Town Planner Vikram Kumar. The DTP appealed to locals who were willing to offer their building to come to his office for providing details. Kumar said around 800 appeals had been disposed of so far and around 300 were pending.
