Haryana to get 8 new vet hospitals, 18 dispensaries: Jai Parkash Dalal
Chandigarh, March 1
The state government has decided to open eight new veterinary hospitals and 18 veterinary dispensaries across the state in the upcoming financial year 2024-25.
These facilities will be established in the districts where veterinary services coverage is less in proportion to the livestock population.
Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Jai Parkash Dalal said here today that the government was engaged in initiatives aimed at promoting welfare of cattle rearers. “This requires implementing policies designed to enhance the livelihoods, productivity and overall well-being of those involved in cattle rearing,” he said.
Recently, CM Manohar Lal Khattar launched 70 livestock ambulances to serve various districts. He also launched a 24×7 toll-free veterinary hospital call centre number 1962. Previously operating with 21 ambulances, the fleet had now expanded to 91, he added.
The government would also introduce soil and water testing facilities through three Water Testing Laboratory Vans, he said. Additional 4,000 acres would be brought under fish and shrimp culture.
