Chandigarh, January 23
“Jai Haryana, Viksit Haryana” song resonated on the Kartavya Path in New Delhi today. The occasion was the full-dress rehearsal for the Republic Day Parade in which the state’s tableau would participate for the third consecutive year.
This year, the theme of Haryana’s tableau is “Mera Parivar, Meri Pehchan”.
The tableau showcased the traditional Haryanvi attire with female artistes performing Haryanvi dance. The song played on the occasion had lyrics that celebrated the prosperity and development of Haryana.
According to an official spokesperson, the leading part of the tableau featured a schoolgirl with a tablet, symbolising “Digital Haryana”. The government had previously distributed free tablets to over five lakh students of Classes X to XII as part of its ambitious e-Adhigam Programme.
The International Solar Alliance’s headquarters in Haryana was displayed in the middle section of the tableau, emphasising the state’s contribution in meeting the energy needs.
The rear part of the tableau showed a woman farmer engaged in flower cultivation, highlighting modern farming practices and women’s empowerment. It also depicted robust infrastructure in Haryana, showcasing well-maintained roads, especially highways, and the inclusion of Metro services.
The tableau presented a unique model of urban development in the state. The industry-friendly environment in Haryana and the ongoing excavation at Rakhigarhi, near Hisar, where remains of the Indus Valley Civilization and the Harappan culture have been discovered, were also showcased.
