The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), has taken an important step towards expanding basic facilities in Ward 8 of the civic body. The MCYJ has started building roads and laying underground pipelines in the ward.
Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora and Mayor Suman Bahamani laid the foundation stone of several development works in the ward by breaking a coconut.
On the occasion, Municipal Councillor of Ward 8 Vibhor Pahuja and several other residents of the ward were also present. Bahamani said their aim was not only to get the construction work done, but also to provide basic facilities to people in every ward of the MCYJ.
She said the MCYJ would built roads and lay underground pipelines from Punjabi Chaap shop to Yamuna Garments and from Amritsari Kulcha shop to Royal Look Garments shop in the ward.
She further said Rs 24.75 lakh would be spent on those development works.
“These development works will provide relief to the public from the problem of water drainage and will ensure a better standard of living in Ward 8. The construction of lanes and roads will provide easy access to the residents of the area,” said Bahamani.
She gave strict instructions to the agencies concerned and contractors to use high quality material in development works. At the same time, the officials concerned were also instructed to keep a special watch on those development works and to complete the work within the stipulated time period.
