Yamunanagar, August 13
Chief Minister (CM) Nayab Singh Saini laid the foundation stone of three projects, including an open air theatre and auditorium worth Rs 67.09 crore, in Yamunanagar district on Tuesday.
The CM laid the foundation stone through video-conferencing from Panchkula and Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora in Yamunanagar through remote control. Arora said the stones of the open air theatre, auditorium, beautification work of three main roads and a shed were laid.
He said the open air theatre and auditorium would be constructed at a cost of Rs 52.87 crore and the beautification work of the three main roads of twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri would be done at a cost of Rs 6.98 crore. He added that a shed would be constructed in the Solid Waste Management Plant, situated in Kail village by spending Rs 7.24 lakh.
During the programme, held in the mini secretariat, Jagadhri, MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora inspected the design of the open air theatre and auditorium and took information about it from senior officials of the Municipal Corporation.
Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha said 5.45 acres had been identified by the Municipal Corporation in Sector 17, Jagadhri, for the open air theatre and auditorium. These would be constructed under the Divya Nagar Yojana.
He further said that there would be a parking facility in the open air theatre with a capacity of parking 300 cars.
He added that there would be a stage in the open air theatre under the open sky with a seating arrangement of 500 in front of it and the auditorium would have a seating capacity of 1,000.
Ayush Sinha said the Municipal Corporation would beautify the Gymkhana club road, Gobindpuri road and Jagadhri Workshop road at a cost of Rs 6.98 crore.
