Stray bull attacks kids in Tohana; CCTV footage sparks outrage

A stray bull attacked four children in the Ramnagar area of Tohana on Tuesday, injuring them and even lifting one child by its horns. The shocking incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the street and has since gone viral on social media.

The children were playing when the bull suddenly charged at them. One child showed presence of mind and managed to escape, narrowly saving his life. The visuals have triggered widespread concern among locals about the rising menace of stray animals in urban areas.

To control the stray cattle problem, the Tohana Municipal Committee had hired a private company, paying them Rs 1,000 per bull caught. However, despite the contract, the number of stray animals roaming the streets remains unchanged, and such dangerous incidents continue.

Local activist Gaurav submitted a formal complaint to the Municipal Committee on Tuesday, demanding that the company’s contract be cancelled. He alleged that the firm had failed in its responsibility and that public safety was at risk.

Residents say this is not an isolated incident. Just a month ago, an elderly man was attacked by a bull while cycling to a cow shelter to feed roti to cows. He was seriously injured and had to be referred to a hospital in Hisar. The incident had prompted the authorities to issue a tender for catching stray bulls, but little has improved since.

With fear and frustration growing among citizens, they are now demanding immediate action to remove stray cattle from residential areas before another life is lost.
