Stray dogs wandering on city roads has become a major problem for the residents of Panipat as packs can be spotted in almost all the residential areas of the city. Children and elderly are particularly affected as they are terrified of stirring out of their homes unaccompanied. Early mornings and evenings see the problem at its worst as dogs chase pedestrians, often biting them. The authorities should launch a sterilisation campaign to curb the canine population. —Rajiv Kumar, Panipat
Monkey menace continues in Bhiwani
The menace continues to haunt residents of Sector 13 in Bhiwani city. A city resident (Neelam, in pic) was attacked recently as she sat in a verandah in her house. There have been a number of cases of monkeys attacking residents after entering their houses. Wrong side driving causing accidents
Driving on the wrong side of the road has been causing a number of accidents. Unfortunately, this practice of flouting traffic norms is rampant in many places in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri. This also leads to traffic jams, inconveniencing commuters.
