Residents in Ward No. 4 of Bhawani Khera town in Bhiwani district have been facing problem as the Municipal Committee authorities have dismantled the street in the locality for repair work. But the reconstruction has not started for the last 8-9 months. The Municpal Committee started the work by dismantling the street and removed bricks from the stretch. But the work watch stopped midway and the construction material was also taken away from the spot. The incomplete work has led to a pathetic condition of the street in this locality as uneven street is not even walkable. Moreover, the sewerage line has broken and the manhole is throwing back the water from the sewer to the street. We have complained the civic body authorities several times but to no avail. — Rajesh Sindhu, Bawani Khera town, Bhiwani
Kurukshetra’s LNJP hospital Roundabout accident-prone
The roundabout outside the LNJP Hospital, Kurukshetra, has become an accident-prone spot. Accidents are imminent due to heavy rush of traffic at the hospital, senior secondary school, Education Department office, KU main gate and illegal market on road. The six-laning of the road is underway for the last about nine months, which has caused innumerable fatal accidents at this roundabout. Will anybody listen to the problem? — Ravinder Malik, Kurukshetra
Pedestrians, cyclists at receiving end
Traffic snarls have become a routine on the flyover leading towards Manav Chowk after the turning point of Sector 9 in Ambala City. The roadsides have been encroached upon by various hawkers and auto-rickshaw drivers, leaving no space for pedestrians and cyclists to commute. There are some persons who have even set up their business on government land. Moreover, the chances of accidents are high as vehicles cross the area on high speed. Similar scenario prevails on the 1-km stretch towards the Kaithal side, where juice corner, gift gallery and other retailers have congested the area. Two-wheelers can be seen parked in abundance along the roadsides. Perhaps, it seems, the government has turned a blind eye to the situation. The administration should take cognisance of the issue and act at the earliest. — Gian P Kansal, Ambala city
