A team of the Town and Country Planning Department, Kurukshetra, carried out a demolition drive in an unauthorised colony being developed at Asmanpur village in the Pehowa block.

As per information, the land owners and property dealers had failed to get the required permission from the department before starting construction work on the 3-acre land.

Kurukshetra District Town Planner (DTP) Vikram Kumar said, “Notices were served on the land owners and property dealers and they were asked to get the permission, but they failed to do so. Following the directions of the Kurukshetra DC, Pehowa Naib Tehsildar Sanjiv Kumar was appointed duty magistrate and a demolition drive was carried out. During the drive, kutcha roads and under-construction portions of the buildings were razed.”

The DTP cautioned people against investing in unauthorised colonies as no one would be allowed to develop such colonies in the district.

“If a person buys a plot in an unauthorised colony, action will be taken against him as well by the DTP office,” he added.
