Indira Gandhi National College, Ladwa, recently organised a seminar on the occasion of International Children’s Book Day on the topic “Use of Library Resources, and E-Resources”. The event aimed to empower students with knowledge about open educational resources (OER) and digital platforms such as NLIST, NDLI, e-PG Pathshala, e-Gyankosh and other free educational resources to enhance their academic pursuits.
College Principal Kushal Pal expressed concern over the declining popularity of reading among students in the “mobile age”, exhorting attendees to read as many books as possible.
A total of 50 students participated in the seminar.
Dr Rupesh Gaur, Librarian, talked about the various services provided by the library and demonstrated how students could leverage e-resources for academic and professional growth.
Dr Amit Kumar, Head, Chemistry Department, also addressed the students, encouraging them to maximise the use of library resources for academic enrichment.
He delved into the importance of cultivating a habit of utilising digital knowledge platforms for better career opportunities.
