He was speaking at the valedictory ceremony of a five-day workshop on “EV Saksham: Electric Vehicle Design and Development”, recently organised by the Mechanical Department, UIET, Kurukshetra University. The VC said today was the age of EV vehicles, and the Government of India had laid out a mission to phase out petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030, due to which the demand for EV vehicles was increasing.

There were about 2,000 components in a fossil fuel vehicle, whereas there were only 20 components in an EV vehicle, he added. He inspected two EV formula racing cars made by UIET students, and said this effort would provide opportunities to students to learn the latest technology. Sachdeva called upon young students to take consistent steps towards start-ups so that they become job providers rather than job seekers. He also inspected the Wolf 2.0 adventure car.
