Students of 9 states being trained to enhance livestock productivity

A 10-day workshop on “Biotechnological techniques in animal nutrition for enhancing livestock productivity” is going on at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-National Dairy Research Institute (ICAR-NDRI) in which around 30 students from nine states are being trained in latest technologies to enhance livestock productivity.
Dr Dheer Singh, Director, ICAR-NDRI, said the workshop was primarily supported by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) under the “Accelerate Vigyan Scheme” of the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
“The aim behind the workshop is to give hands-on-experience and knowledge enhancement in niche areas and cutting-edge technologies to budding researchers doing masters and doctoral scholars across the country,” said the Director.Dr Singh complimented the scholars for being selected in the training programme and suggested them to learn as much as possible from the globally recognised faculties and state-of-the-art research facilities available at the institute. He exhorted the enthusiastic, youth participants to become job creators rather than job seekers through their enhanced knowledge and skills in the scientific domain. He reiterated that the NDRI occupied top position as the “seat of learning” in all spheres of dairy sector and participants should grab this golden opportunity to learn, do research work and be leader in innovation,” he added.
