In a creative initiative to beautify the city, students from various districts of the state transformed the walls of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC) into a vibrant canvas, bringing scenes from the Mahabharata to life. The state-level wall painting competition, ‘Kala Sangam,’ was organised by the Karnal Municipal Corporation (KMC) on Friday at Mahatma Gandhi Chowk.

The competition was inaugurated by MC Commissioner Dr Vaishali Sharma, who lit a ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the event. She emphasised that ‘Kala Sangam’ was a success, crediting the talented participants for their dedication and artistic talent. She highlighted that painting on the wall of the KCGMC was a challenging task, but the passion and commitment of the artists made it a reality.

A total of 10 teams from various universities and colleges across the state, including Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Yamunanagar, and Bhiwani, took part in the competition. The participants brought the epic tales of the Mahabharata to life through their paintings, depicting scenes such as Lord Krishna delivering the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna, Arjuna’s focus on the bird’s eye, Lord Krishna playing the flute, Krishna lifting the chariot wheel, and the divine trio of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh.
