Sunshine returns in Haryana, residents flock outdoors
For the second straight day, residents across Haryana basked in the warmth of a sunny winter day, offering much-needed relief from the intense cold of the past few weeks. Parks, markets and open spaces buzzed with activity as people took advantage of the pleasant weather. Children were seen flying kites and playing outdoors, making the most of the sunny respite.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the state’s average maximum temperature has increased by 0.2°C, now nearing the normal range. Faridabad recorded the highest maximum temperature at 22.3°C, followed by Palwal and Sirsa at 20.5°C each.
Other cities experienced slightly cooler maximum temperatures, with Ambala and Kurukshetra at 19.9°C, Karnal 19°C, Gurugram 18.8°C, Hisar 18.2°C and Jind 18°C. The lowest maximum temperatures were reported in Mahendragarh at 16.8°C, Rohtak 16.7°C and Bhiwani 17.8°C.
Despite the sunny day, the average minimum temperature dipped by 1°C compared to Monday but remains close to normal levels. Karnal recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 5.2°C, followed by Sirsa 5.4°C and Mahendragarh 5.8°C. Other cities reported slightly higher minimum temperatures, including Ambala at 8.8°C, Hisar 7.1°C, Rohtak 9.2°C and Gurugram 9.3°C.
“The sunny days have been a relief for residents, particularly the elderly and children, who have struggled with the biting cold earlier this season,” said a local resident.
The IMD has forecast mild to dense fog in various parts of the state in the coming days, indicating possible fluctuations in weather patterns.
