Chandigarh, January 12
Congress national general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala today criticised the Centre and state government for the closure of Hisar Doordarshan (DD) kendra.
He alleged that the Centre was continuously attacking the state people, but the BJP-JJP government of Haryana was not only proving to be a failure on every front, but also giving silent support to every wrong decision of the Centre.
“The director of the centre has been transferred and other officers are also being sent to Chandigarh. The Centre is attacking the art, culture and literature of the state directly by deciding to merge the DD kendra in Hisar with that of Chandigarh. The silence of CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala on this matter is even more shameful,” he said.
Surjewala said the entire world had been watching the performances of writers and artistes of Haryana through this DD kendra, but now, it was being converted into a broadcasting centre only.
“The farmers of the state have also benefitted a lot through it.”
Surjewala said that the Congress would force the government to withdraw this decision. —
