Swachh Survey: Team inspects cleanliness in twin cities
A team of the Swachh Bharat Mission from the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies, Haryana, recently inspected the cleanliness system of the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.
The team, which included management information system (MIS) expert Dinesh Rathi, used water expert Rajesh Malik and other officials, visited a material recovery facility (MRF) centre, solid waste management plant at Kail village, public and community toilets, STP plants and other places.
The team took information from the officials of municipal corporation (MC) about the work done regarding the Swachh Survey.
The purpose behind the visit was to get a better rank in the Swachh Survey, to be held in the near future.
As per available information, the team was accompanied by the officials of the MC, including Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Sunil Dutt, CSI Harjeet Singh, Swachh Bharat Mission activity expert Pooja, MC Brand Ambassador Shashi Gupta and other officials.
Rathi and Malik said, for a better ranking, citizens should also cooperate with the MC in the survey.
“People should take care of cleanliness and should not throw garbage in the open. They should not use banned single-use plastic items,” said Rathi. The MC officials told the team members that, on the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha and under the guidance of Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Pal Yadav, a number of activities were conducted done daily by the MC for Swachh Survey.
Chief Sanitary Inspector Sunil Dutt said various activities, including wall painting, rallies and awareness programmes, were being conducted to promote cleanliness in the district.
