Swami Dayanand remembered at Kurukshetra varsity seminar
A one-day international seminar on the topic “Bhartiya Samaj, Sanskriti Evam Sahitya par Rishi Dayanand Ke Chintan Ka Prabhav” was recently organised at Dayanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kurukshetra. The seminar was held under the aegis of Haryana Sahitya and Sanskriti Akadami, Panchkula.
Dr Roopkishor Shastri, the keynote speaker of the seminar, said Swami Dayanand Saraswati was a source of inspiration for society.
He was a prominent advocate for equality and education, Dr Shastri added.
Dharmdev Vidyarthi, Director, Haryana Sahitya and Sanskriti Akadami, Panchkula, said Swami Dayanand’s contributions to the fields of education, culture and social reforms were irreplaceable.
Dr Kuldeep Chandra Agnihotri expressed his views on the Arya Samaj.
He said Swami Dayanand’s influence widely spread in the region of ‘Sapt Sindhu’ (modern Punjab). He said everyone should make efforts to glorify Indian literary culture.
The chief guest encouraged the students to contribute to spreading the teachings of Swami Dayanand at a global level.
Prof Arvind Kumar, former Chairperson, Department of Sanskrit, KU, expressed his views on the research papers presented by various delegates.
He said Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s teachings and philosophy were effectively expressed by delegates.
Principal Dr Upasana Ahuja said the institution was working based on the teachings and educational values of Swami Dayanand Saraswati.
A total of 133 delegates presented their research papers during the seminar, and 314 persons participated in the seminar through the online and offline modes.
