The water spilt from Tangri river has left a stretch of the Ambala-Saha portion of the NH-444 A in Ambala Cantonment waterlogged, causing inconvenience to the commuters.

Ambala police officials have been managing the traffic but the heavy flow of water continues to create trouble for motorists, especially two-wheeler riders. After touching the levels of over 43,000 cusecs water around 10 pm yesterday, about 25,000 cusecs of water was flowing in the river on Thursday.

Meanwhile, residents of the colonies situated on the Tangri riverbed and adjoining areas continue witness severe waterlogging.

Aman Kumar, a resident, said that they are left with no other option but to wait for the river water to recede. The river has caused heavy damage to their houses.

The Tangri river has left the industrial area in Ambala Cantonment flooded.

Deputy Commissioner Ajay Singh Tomer said, “The Tangri river registered its peak flow of 43,000 last night due to which the water overflowed and waterlogging has been witnessed in the lower areas and the industrial area. The water level in Tangri is receding gradually and the water from the other areas will also start decreasing.”
