Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda on Monday advised all teachers to inculcate the qualities of a good leader in children as this passion and enthusiasm of the younger generation was very important in making the country a global leader. The Education Minister was addressing students and teachers at a scholarship felicitation programme held at SD Vidya Mandir, HUDA, in Panipat on Monday.

The school management committee felicitated 16 students, awarding them scholarships worth Rs 5,76,000.

The students were being honoured for scoring 95 per cent or more marks in Class X board examinations (session 2023-24). Under this, a cheque of Rs 36,000 was presented to each student. Dhanda said there was no shortage of talent in the country, and children were the future of the country.

The Education Minister emphasised the need for the all-round development of children, exhorting children to take to take a pledge every day to make India a Vishva Guru.

Anup Garg, president, SD Education Society; Satish Chandra, chairman, School Managing Committee; Tulsi Singla, secretary; Vikas Garg, vice-chairman; and Dr Anu Gupta welcomed the chief guest at the event.

At the event, students showcased Haryanvi and Rajasthani folk dances. The chairman said the scholarship would also be applicable for the students of Class X of session 2024-25.

Riddhi Arya, Mehak, Siya, Aditya Jain, Pihu Sharma, Hans Bhokar, Nikunj Goyal, Ridhima Goyal, Siddhi Arya, Raghav Gupta, Chetna, Tanusha Garg, Khushi, Lakshya Gupta, Dhatri and Jashit Luthra were awarded scholarships at the event.
