Teacher Eligibility Test held smoothly in Karnal, Kaithal

Amid tight security arrangements, the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) Level-3 (PGT) examination was conducted peacefully across Karnal and Kaithal districts on Wednesday.

Karnal Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh confirmed that the exam, held during the evening session, concluded peacefully. A total of 3,742 candidates appeared for the exam out of 4,255 registered across 14 examination centres, while 513 candidates remained absent.

DC Singh further said the HTET Level-2 (TGT) exam would be held on July 31 at 10 am to 12:30 pm, followed by the Level-1 (PRT) exam at 3 pm to 5:30 pm. For Level-1, 2,562 candidates will appear across nine exam centres, while in Level-2, 6,729 candidates will appear at 22 centres.

He said a strict advisory had been issued for the candidates not to carry mobile phones or any digital devices, as they were completely prohibited at the examination centres. Entry will only be allowed after thorough checking and only staff with valid ID cards would be permitted entry.

Karnal SP Ganga Ram Punia said they had deployed sufficient police officials to ensure peaceful conduct of the exam.

Meanwhile in Kaithal, out of 4,446 registered candidates, 4,011 appeared, while 435 were absent.

Kaithal DC Preeti said adequate arrangements were made to ensure transparency. She instructed all officials to remain on alert mode during the upcoming Level-1 and Level-2 exams on July 31, ensuring discipline, honesty, and seamless conduct of the exams without any inconvenience to the candidates.

DC Preeti with Kaithal SP Astha Modi visited the exam centres and reviewed the arrangements. SP Modi said all candidates were allowed entry only after thorough checking, maintaining the exam’s integrity.

DC Preeti said 7,538 candidates would appear for the Level-2 (TGT) exam in the morning session and 2,364 candidates will appear for the Level-1 (PRT) exam in the evening session.

DC Preeti also appealed to the candidates to bring two coloured printouts of their admit cards—one for the centre and one for the candidate. The same coloured photograph used during the online application must be affixed on both copies and duly attested by a gazetted officer.
