Teacher gets certificate of appreciation
Karnal: Aarti Vohra, a science teacher of Dyal Singh Public School, Dyal Singh Colony, was awarded a certificate of appreciation by General Manoj Mukund Naravane, former Chief of the Army Staff, for her contribution under the Gold Award Ceremony organised by the International Award of Young People at Delhi. School Principal Sushma Devgan while congratulating Aarti said teachers, who performed their duties well and were committed towards their work, were given certificates by the International Award of Young People. She said Aarti did her work diligently. Head mistress Priya Kapoor also congratulated Aarti for her achievement. TNS
Programme on environmental issues
Yamunanagar: Mukand Lal Public School, Sarojini Colony, held a programme, ‘A role play activity’, to educate students regarding current problems of the environment. A role play activity for Classes I to V was arranged on topics “say no to plastic”, “water conservation”, “save trees-save earth”, “conservation of soil” and “air pollution”. Students performed confidently on the stage and expressed their thoughts in a good manner. School director Shashi Bathla appreciated performance of students. Students urged to plant saplings
Faridabad: Students and staff of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, have been urged plant saplings in order to reduce temperature and promote natural habitats for birds. Addressing a programme as part of a month-long plantation campaign initiated by the university, Additional District and Sessions Judge Dr Pankaj, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said the need for protection and conservation of environment and sustainable use of natural resources was reflected in the constitutional framework and also in international commitments of India. “The fundamental duties under the Constitution cast a duty on every citizen to protect and improve the natural environment, including forests, lakes, rivers and wildlife, and to have compassion for living creatures,” he said. VC Prof SK Tomar said, “The university is celebrating the month of July as ‘Hariyali Parv’. To mark this occasion, a mega plantation campaign has been initiated. Eminent personalities from all walks of life are being invited to participate in the campaign.”
