At a meeting of the National Executive Committee of the All India Primary Teachers’ Association (AIPTF), it was decided that February 1 would be observed as ‘Black Day’ to protest the new pension scheme. On this day, all teachers will wear black bands while performing their duties in schools.

The meeting was held at Teachers’ Bhavan in Delhi recently, which was chaired by the committee’s national president, Basavaraj Gorikar. Representatives from various states attended the meeting, where they discussed various issues affecting teachers in their respective states.

Haryana Primary Teachers’ Association representatives, including state president Hariom Rathi, treasurer Chatar Singh and Rohtak district president Ramesh Siwach, participated in the national meeting. Singh informed that Haryana teachers would also observe Black Day on February 1.

Rathi urged all teachers and employees in the state to join the protest.
