Teams check 1,941 vehicles to curb illegal mining, transportation of minerals in Yamunanagar

As many as 1,941 vehicles were checked by the teams of the district administration last night to curb illegal mining, illegal transportation of mining minerals and overloading.

During the checking, one vehicle was challaned and a fine of Rs 65,000 was imposed on the owner of the vehicle.

Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta said the district administration was committed to stop illegal mining activities in the district. He said as per the instructions of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the Director- General of Mines and Geology Department, KM Pandurang, was monitoring to stop illegal business of mining.

He further said 1,177 vehicles were checked by the teams led by the SDM, Chhachhrauli.He added that 325 vehicles were checked by the teams of the SDM, Jagadhri.

He said during the checking of 316 vehicles by the teams of the SDM, Radaur, one vehicle was challaned and a fine of Rs 65,000 was imposed on the owner of the vehicle.

He further said 123 vehicles were checked by the team of SDM Vyaspur (Bilaspur).

“The checking is being done 24x7 by all SDMs, Police Department and Mining Department officials of the district,” said Gupta. He said the district administration was alert to prevent illegal mining and was keeping a close watch on such people. “Illegal mining will not be tolerated in the district under any circumstances and strict action will be taken against such people,” said Gupta.

He said one could contact helpline number 9417250172 issued by the Haryana Government to register a complaint on illegal mining.
