Haryana: Temporarily recognised schools get provisional affiliation with riders

In a significant development, the state government has decided to grant provisional affiliation for the academic session 2023-24, with conditions, to temporarily recognised private schools established before April 30, 2003.

“A school permanently recognised up to 8th or 10th level… may also be temporarily recognised up to 10th or 12th level, as the case may be. They are allowed to deposit affiliation fee in the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) for the session 2023-24 so that the students can appear in the board exams,” states a communiqué issued by the Directorate of School Education to the Secretary, BSEH, today.

As per the conditions, the schools would have to produce the proof of temporary recognition granted by the Department of School Education, while any act contrary to the provisions of the rules would invite appropriate action under the relevant rules, said sources.

“The decision to grant provisional affiliation has been taken by the government following the receipt of representations from the Temporarily Recognised Private School Associations requesting for extension of affiliation to the schools. It was quite essential to take cognisance and safeguard the interests of the students’ studying in such schools,” said an official.

The fate of over 60,000 students enrolled in classes IX to XII in these schools was hanging in balance following the non-extension of their affiliation, as the BSEH declared the date sheet of exams scheduled for next month, even as their exam forms are yet to be submitted.
